Having used Blackcircle previously through the CSMA, gave them a ring and asked for recommendation for tyre (x4) replacement. Time short, so went with recommendation. Time for a little research later that evening revealed some horrifying, independent data about braking potential of recommended tyres. Rang the next morning and changed option without any problem. Tyres fitted as timetable proposed; excellent communication throughout. Fitter clearly very happy to be involved with Blackcircle.
Followed up with BC about recommendation. Immediate response that they recommend on basis of customer reviews only, not independent tests, Which reports, etc. Seems a little naive to me. Could be more proactive here - why wait for a problem to occur when the potential problem has been highlighted elsewhere ? Maybe best approach if you have a warehouse full of tyres, of course ?
Tyres of interest - Bridgestone RE040 recommended by BC to replace RE030s on Mazda 6 estate. Much poor press on RE040's poor braking in wet (although excellent in dry !), particularly in cold weather. Fitted Michelin PS3 as alternative.
Overall, very good experience with flagship customer service. However, allow a little time for your own research.
