Bought two pairs of Vans shoes from Surfdome because of their advertised prices and the positive reviews given by others. I was very pleasantly surprised to get to checkout and find free next day delivery as well. On top of all this their returns policy is very fair.
I use myHermes courier service when I sell something on eBay. I've used their services on a number of occasions (between 5-10) and each time the price has been fantastic and the delivery has been made on time. I book and pay for the delivery online, print a package label then take the package to a local 'parcel shop' who then scan it in to the system where later it will be collected by the courier. Every time this has worked flawlessly and every time the parcel has arrived safe and sound. I've looked at alternative couriers but none come close price wise. I would definitely recommend myHermes and I will continue to use them.
I bought a Panasonic Vieva 50" LED television from the Watford branch of Richer Sounds and they arranged delivery for the following Wednesday. The price from Richer Sounds was £100 cheaper than from John Lewis and still with a 5 year warranty. Unfortunately their courier service let them down and didn't deliver (or call) on the specified day. Paddy at Richer Sounds Head Office Customer Service was fantastic trying to sort out the problem. Although thwarted by the courier at every turn he persevered until I finally had the TV in my hands. The television it self was a Panasonic TX-L50E6B and now I'm watching it I can also confirm it was a great buy, especially at £100 cheaper than John Lewis.
I ordered a Lamy Rollerball pen from Pen Heaven initially because their price was very competitive but also because I wished to use a smaller company rather than a larger faceless organisation such as Amazon. Thankfully I wasn't disappointed, the Pen Heaven website made product selection a doddle and, although I didn't select it, Pen Heaven even offered a same day engraving service on items ordered before 3pm. Dispatch and the free delivery were both quick and efficient and the pen arrived as promised. Pen Heaven had a large range of both makes and models listed on its website and if their prices are consistently competitive across their stock there can be no reason I can see not to buy your pen from them.
Lilysilk could easily have had a 5 star review but for poor communication at the beginning. I ordered two sets of pyjamas for a Christmas present for my wife at the beginning of December and other than the original confirmation of purchase email I received no further communication or update until I chased them a week later. The original receipt stated you could login and track the order status but unfortunately for a week the status on my order was never updated from the original 'order confirmed'. This is where Lilysilk's customer service stepped in (in a really good way!). I contacted Lilysilk by email with my worries and they replied the following day, had sorted everything out and confirmed the order would be with me soon. Two days later two boxes of beautifully made silk pyjamas arrived by DHL.
Ordered a tall freezer on a Friday afternoon at what was the cheapest price I was able to find online (great) and it was delivered FOC the following Sunday (also great). The product itself is as expected, but the ease of purchase and super-fast delivery made the whole experience a pleasure. I have purchased a few items from Appliances Online before and on each occasion it has been a money saving, hassel free experience.
At 10a.m. I ordered a digital downlaod of software from an eCrater seller that sounded almost too good to be true, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. The transaction was processed and I made payment using PayPal. Soon an email receipt from PayPal confirming the funds had been sent was received followed shortly after by an email acknowledgment from eCrater that my order had been successful. But then nothing from the seller. I waited and waited but no comunication from the seller until finally the following day an email appeared with clear and concise instructions. The software was exactly as described with full links and instructions on how to register with the software manufacturers. The download, entry of the product key and registration process all worked as advertised by the seller. In the end I was pleased with my purchase but due to some poor experiences noted in online reviews I felt anxious until the software was installed and fully registered.
I wanted to order a Tissot watch as a Christmas gift for my wife and searched the internet for suppliers of a particular model. I found the watch I wanted listed on various sites including those of large chains such as Goldsmiths and various online stores. Prices varied by 100% (yes, 100%!!!) so I decided to check with Tissot (Switzerland) which suppliers were authorised distributors and therefore selling original manufactured watches. Of course many weren't but by checking on the www.tissot.ch website for authorised UK stores I came across Pleasance & Harper, and what a relief that I did, they were advertising the model I wanted at almost 25% cheaper than most advertised prices, and 50% cheaper than some top suppliers. I telephoned P&H in order to check they had the model I wanted in stock, the phone was answered by a lady who worked in the shop (not an office located elsewhere) who briefly put me on hold to physically check their stock. They had it in stock so I ordered the watch (which included Free P&P) at around 10am on a Monday using the P&H online service and the watch was safely delivered in a very well packaged box before midday the following day complete with original Tissot warranty filled in by P&H as required by Tissot. Note: Before ordering (and telephoning) I decided to check to see who P&H really were and was so pleased to find that they are an independent family jeweller with over 130yrs of experience, rather than some fly-by-night outfit that could end up taking your money and running. If you use P&H I really hope you have the same experience as I did, it was a real pleasure.
Firstly Envirofone quoted one of the highest prices for my phone (within a few pence of other quotes) however they had one major selling point over all of the other companies that I looked at, and believe it or not it's the small print in their terms and conditions. There isn't any! I had an Orange phone to recycle and Orange themselves pointed me at their own recycling scheme (run by: Regenersis (Glasgow) Limited) and after reading the small print backed from them as soon as my feet could carry me. They had terms such as (and I'm paraphrasing here)... would not return a phone if it did not meet the original quote standards and the price needed to be adjusted downwards, they also said 'you are not able to cancel the contract whether under Regulation 10 of the Distance Selling Regulations or otherwise' (this I found very disturbing indeed). Other companies had small print (but none quite so worrying), some would charge a fee to return a phone that they had 'recalculated' the value of, but Envirofone addressed all my fears, firstly they sent packaging that included high value insurance (free of charge), secondly they quoted and paid one of the highest prices, and thirdly and most crucially if the phone hadn't met their original quoted standards they would contact me to discuss and/or return the phone to me FREE OF CHARGE! No other company even came close to matching these T&C's, Envirofone were upfront from the very start choosing to be honest while other their competitors looked for angles to play hidden within their T&C's. Trying to recycle a phone certainly teaches you to actually read the small print. Oh, and finally... Envirofone quickly notified me that my phone had been received and that it was ready to be assessed, then within a day they said it was fine and funds would be transferred (which they were). Thank you Envirofone, it truly was a pleasure to do business with such an upfront company, I will certainly be back.
I ordered a Transcend 8Gb Micro SDHC card (class 6) for use in my wife's HTC smartphone from Kikatek online on a Saturday afternoon. Confirmation emails were received regarding the progress of the order and the card turned up first thing Tuesday morning. The packaging was good and ensured the card would make it through Royal Mail's system unscathed. The product itself is was it said it was, and it was exactly what I was expecting. Being a Class 6 card the read/write speeds are easily sufficient for the storage and playback of music and the capture of images from the onboard camera. It's a good card at a good price.
