I ordered two sideboards to match one that I had purchased a few months previously. A few weeks after ordering I telephoned to ask when they would be delivered. I was told that the sideboards had inadvertently been sold to someone else and I would have to wait six weeks for the next delivery. After four weeks I was contacted to say they now had them in stock and could deliver them. When they arrived, one of the sideboards was an ex display item and it had a scratch on one of the doors. I telephoned and was told that they would no longer be getting this style in. I therefore asked if I could have a discount of £50. I was told absolutely no way! Because this was a matching set I had no choice but to keep the ex display cupboard with the scratched door. I think the company is mean and miserable and is dishonest to send out an ex display item without consulting with the customer beforehand. This to me is dishonest and disrespectful. I shall not want to do business with them again because they cannot be trusted.
Staff on the telephone were very friendly and helpful. The delivery men were very pleasant and unpacked the deliveries and took away the packaging. My only negative is that I had to wait 4 weeks for delivery. I would use them again.
I was involved in a web scam and when I contacted Tesco Disputes they basically told me that it was my own fault for not reading the company's T&C properly. They were unsympathetic and cold, leaving me feeling a complete fool. I wasn't the only one taken in by this scam and I read that other credit card companies were reimbursing their customers. I have been loyal to Tesco for 45 years and felt gutted at their callous attitude. I am not as stupid as they made me feel because I've now cancelled my credit card, savings account and everything else connected with Tesco.
