We ordered takeaway and waited an hour for it to arrive. After an hour we called the restaurant who told us they could not deliver because we were too far away. When we placed the order we had received a confirmation email to say our order had been accepted. Payment was taken from our account. We called Just Eat and were told that they 'forgot' to send us a cancellation email and that the payment had been taken from our account and wouldn't be paid back into our account for 3-5 days, meanwhile (if I even receive the money back) Just East will benefit form the interest on my order and on all the other orders they have taken payment for and not fulfilled. To top it off we didnt even receive an apology. Shocking. Will NEVER use again.

I am sorry to hear that your order wasn't delivered to you, this can unfortunately happen because post code areas can be larger than the restaurants delivery area.
When you make a payment with your card be it online or in a shop your bank places a reserve on the funds and they are removed from your available balance. At no point is Just Eat in receipt of your fund or earning any interest from them, the funds remain held in reserve by your bank until the reserve is lifted, depending on the bank it can take up to 7 working days for this to happen.
