If you want a customer to post a review now, and dont pay for Trust Pilot, then that customer must pre-register or be prepared to use their Facebook account. Many of my customers are not happy to do this, so may have to look at dropping Trust Pilot as a preferred review site.
Its not that it is expensive, but I dont like being held to ransom. To make it hard for customers to place a review really goes against what I feel a review site should be doing.
Please make it easier for customers to post reviews and then maybe I would be happy to sign up for additonal services.

Let me start by sating that I completely understand your frustration. It is for some users annoying to have to use Facebook in order to write a comment. But there is a good reason for that. We at Trustpilot do our utmost to fight fake reviews. Using Facebook is a good away to prevent fake reviews to be written. We think anonymous reviews are and will be a thing of the past. We believe that reviews from real people with real names and pictures are more trustworthy. You might want to read about this in our blog: http://blog.trustpilot.com/fighting-fake-reviews/
It is correct that for companies using Trustpilot to automatically collect reviews, Facebook might not be necessary because we have enough proof to know that the review comes from a genuine customer.
We are investigating other ways to make customers writing reviews without Facebook but we want to ensure that reviews written come from real customer experiences. We welcome any suggestions of course, as online identity is an ongoing debate - not just on Trustpilot.
