I purchased an Epiphone Dot, the build quality is very good on a guitar of this price, pickups good although the guitar does have a tendancy to feed back at high volume, but having said that I have a Tele fitted with PAF humbuckers which does the same. The only criticism I have with the guitar is a) the jack socket fell to bits after only a few uses, and is a bit awkward to refit, but a few drops of super glue on threads seems to have cured the problem. Let me say that had I contacted Andertons I have no doubt they would have replaced the guitar with no hassel, it was my choice to fix it myself. The second and most important thing was the action on the guitar was too high for me. when I lowered the bridge there was string rattling and choking when bending strings. I took the guitar to a luthier called Les Tones ( if you live in the north east this guy is top notch) and he dressed the frets and re -cut the nut and the differnce was unbelievable, the guitar now plays as good as any of the others I have, and that includes my PRS which cost about ten times what I paid for the Epiphone. So grab your self a bargain it is worth spending a few quid to have the neck set up and you will have yourself a good guitar.
