Inaccurate billing for one whole year at which point I stopped paying and proceeded with small claims court action. The company will bill you using their 'estimate' values whilst the meters are not working. These estimate values are massively over-inflated even though they have your usage trend to estimate properly if they wanted to. I can come up with numerous reasons why this would be.
If I had been elderly or vulnerable I never would have seen my money back (quite a considerable sum). Don't expect any customer service either, you will never receive replys to emails or callbacks - a formal written letter by recorded post is the only way you'll get a meaningful response. Getting the refund correct was a near impossible task as well - they assumed that because my house was a new build the meter started at zero (even though gas had been used continuously for 6 months to dry out plaster). Providing a meter reading upon moving in was obvioulsy no good.
