Disappointing reply from customer service

Long standing customer and appreciate their products. However in this period of belt tightening the increase in the ChondroMax was painful for someone on a pension! My email to them said so but the reply was full of self-praise and misleading. They said prices had to go up due to inflation, understandable, but quoted it was a 6% rise for the ChondroMax. I replied pointing out that in September they cost me £16.95 for 120 now they are £14.45 for 90 an increase of 13.667%.
With smaller boxes intentionally or unintentionally blurring the price rise. The reply was "sorry you are unhappy with the price rise." and pass my comments on to the Marketing Dept !

We are genuinely sorry that you are unhappy with the price rise, Mr Hailes. We always aim to provide the best value in the market.

Before September 2011, the price of Chondromax was £17.95 for 120- a price we were able to lower to £16.95 in September/October ahead of the necessary changes in November. The 6% rise quoted to you previously is closer to the effective 7% rise in the per-tablet-cost from £17.95 for 120 to £14.45 for 90 that we now sell the product for. This equates to a 3.4p rise each day for the recommended 3-tablet dose of Chondromax.

Please be assured that customer feedback is taken very seriously and contributes to the redevelopment of products and pricing structure wherever possible.
