I bought a heater about a year ago from e4electricals.com because the company had good reviews and the price was the best I could find. I can't fault them for their original service in sending out the heater but their customer service now leaves much to be desired.
The heater recently started to emit a burning smell everytime I switched it on. As it was under a two-year warranty I contacted the manufacturer Igenix. They told me to contact the retailer to arrange an exchange through them.
E4electrical's website says to contact them via e-mail or phone for a returns number so that's what I did. I e-mailed two different addresses and when I got no reply I phoned them but all I got was an answerphone message that said nobody could take my call and I couldn't leave a message.
So I got back in touch with Igenix and asked them if there was anything they could do and they were brilliant. Within a week I had my replacement heater so thank you Igenix!
I don't know what's going on with e4electricals. I can see from their facebook page that someone else had a similar experience when trying to contact them so anyone considering buying anything from them, just be careful.
I bought an Igenix heater about a year ago from an independent retailer. Unfortunately, the heater recently started to emit a burning smell everytime I switched it on. As it was under a two-year warranty I contacted Igenix who told me to contact the retailer to arrange an exchange through them.
The retailer's website said to ask for a returns number. After two e-mails with no reply and a phone call which was answered only by an answer machine telling me nobody could take my call and I couldn't leave a message, I got back in touch with Igenix and asked them if there was anything they could do and they were brilliant.
Within a week I had my replacement heater so thank you Igenix! Wonderful customer service!
I did some research and found a PC and monitor I wanted from PC World. I went in store and asked one of the assistants if they had it in stock (their shelves were ridiculously bare so that was a no) but before he went to order it he asked if I wanted antivirus and Office sold as a bundle as it would be cheaper.
I told him I already had them and he wanted to know which antivirus I had. I said I used the free one that Avast provides. Can't use that, I'm told, as Avast isn't compatible with Windows 8 so it really would be cheaper to buy everything as a bundle. Hmmm. I said I would think about it and left the store. Got home, did some research and lo and behold Avast free Antivirus is compatible with Windows 8.
PC World have lost out on an £870 sale and I won't be shopping there again.
The good reputation Amazon has is well deserved. Website, packaging, dispatch time (even with super saver free delivery) - all excellent. 99% of the time they are the cheapest place to buy and on the few occasions I've had to return items their customer service has been brilliant and I was refunded, no messing about. Highly recommended!
I'd had a Logitech Harmony remote control for a while when one of the buttons stopped working. It was within the warranty period so I e-mailed Logitech customer support and received a response very quickly. Via messages I was taken through various steps to find out what exactly was wrong with the remote. When it was established that the fault was with the hardware a replacement was shipped out very quickly via UPS. I couldn't have wished for better service. I also have speakers made by Logitech. Their items are top quality and their customer service is awesome.
After an awful experience with another company I wish I'd gone there first! What a difference! We were allowed to look round the showroom in peace without being hassled. The staff were friendly and polite. I ordered a mattress with minimum of fuss and was given choice of delivery dates. The mattress (which was excellent quality and value) was delivered on time three days later. Couldn't be happier!
ETA: It is May 2013 now and within the last 15 months I've ordered a total of 2 mattresses and 1 bed frame from Beds on Legs. Each order has been 100% hassle-free. They provide great value for money, excellent customer service and they cannot be faulted on delivery. If you need a bed this is the place to go!
