Adorama is one of two businesses I use for my camera gear. They offer great deals and video tutorials for the serious hobbyist. They also ship to APO addresses. I am a friend on their Facebook site, which keeps me current on all the latest photo deals. Prices and shipping costs are very competitive.

I use TripAdvisor mostly to review hotels and restaurants, but there is so much more a member can do with this website: one can write trip reports, upload photographs, graph all the places one's travelled to. If one is planning to travel to a specific place, this is a decent site to visit to gather up-to-date tips and advice and even warnings.
People who write reviews don't get the option of editing their reviews once they are posted. I don't like that. Also, not every hotel or restaurant in any given town is available for review.
However, I've also noticed that many disgruntled customers will get on this site to bash a particular establishment, and oftentimes a business owner has to respond to clarify negative comments. Not all the negative reviews are legitimate; people just want to gripe. Businesses do monitor this site!
I've bought four computers from Dell over the last ten years. Shipments have always been slow. With one product the delivery was delayed twice by two months and when I then opted to cancel on the shipment, I was initially told I couldn't do so. However, FCC regulations require sellers to deliver on items within 30 days and if that can't be done, the customer has a right to cancel without being charged a penalty.
My last computer, which I bought just last August, was an XPS 8300. It was advertised as a multi-media, fast computer, which it was for the first three months. Then the card reader malfunctioned and now the modem doesn't always work when I log in, requiring me many times to turn off my system multiple times before the modem kicks in. My other Dell products lasted about three years each.
I have been shopping via Amazon for nine years now. What started out as a book and DVD obsession for me has turned into practically a retailer for most of my needs. Shipping and prices are the best overall. Refunds are almost always troublefree. Frequent buyers are offered unadvertised specials. If you write good reviews, you may also be asked to join the "Vine" program where you are often offered high-end new products to review.
The only items I don't buy from Amazon are cameras and high-end lenses. For that I shop elsewhere.
I have been using this company for my high-end dog food for almost 18 months now. I have seen great improvements in the quality and speed of their shipments. After two complaints about damaged packages in the beginning, I can say that I haven't had any issues with any of the products I have bought in the past year. The prices are competitive. The customer reps are also very courteous.
