Under rug anti slip felt mat thingy

I have a heavy wool rug on a carpet, which also has a very heavy oak coffee table on it. The rug was always puckered at one end and would not flatten out. I purchased the (under rug mat), which is quite expensive, and placed it under the rug. It seems to be slowly flattening out and I hope it will continue to do so. I had to ring the company to find out which way up the mat should be, as it is sticky on one side, and it didn't come with instructions. I shall be very annoyed if, when I put the coffee table back on the rug it, stays puckered.
