Booked a flight two weeks ago, three months ahead as relatives are coming the first time over and I have planned a huge family reunion which hasn't happened for 20 years!!!
There were two flights available, one going out of London at 6am, one at 10am. Went for the 10am due to public transport usage.
Yesterday I received an e-mail that my flight was cancelled and if I wish to proceed with the 6am flight I should reply to this email within 48 hours. As further arrangements have been made already, I replied to the e-mail accepting the inconvenience. No confirmation until today. Had to call their hotline which is somewhere outside UK, barely understood what the agent was telling me. Now waiting for the confirmation which hopefully will come soon!
In the e-mail nothing was mentioned about a reimbursement if flight would be cancelled from lastminute.com, no phonecall received from their side (phone number supplied when done the booking).
Next time I rather spend some more money but have some assurance of my booking instead of going cheap at all means! The money I have saved I now have to spend on a taxi! Well done lastminute.com!
ON TOP OF ALL THAT: THE FLIGHT I HAVE BOOKED EARLIER IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING! HOW DARE IS THAT? OR JUST PURE ONLINE INCOMPETENCE?
