I had used groupon for quite a few purchases and on the whole was satisfied with the experience. However, after a period where my computer froze up and took all the relevant information with it, it was some time before I got a new device, and then eventually the groupon email was found in my spam folder and transferred to my inbox.
Soon I found something I wanted and I swiftly purchased and paid while looking for some credits that I had been given previously.
These credits were given not for a change of mind on my behalf, but for the inability of two merchants to fulfill there side of the deal. In both of these circumstances I would have preferred a refund to my account but instead was given credits.
But no credits could be found. They had expired.
I swiftly got in touch with a representative, who very swiftly replied that there was nothing he could do!
I have checked through my emails and I received no email warning of there imminent expiry and now I have lost money through merchants not delivering a service promised through groupon.
But who has the payments?......GROUPON !
Inflexible and poor customer service!
I completed my purchase today, I wish now that I hadn't.
After much back and fore, I eventually asked for my complaint to be put to a manager.
They came back and gave me the credit valid for another 12 months.
I have changed my star rating to two, as it has been a trying process, but to be fair they have eventually given credit back.
