There are four main things to consider when renting cars abroad (IMO)
- rental price
- insurance extras, ie excess cover
- fuel policy
Rentalcars made all of these very explicit on their site and there were no surprises. Some companies hide everything as best they can and you end up paying more. With this experience in Majorca from Rental Cars I got a good price, full to full fuel policy and on airport pick up and drop off. Like all companies there is an excess on the insurance which I covered with a separate cheaper policy from another company
Computer is great - good price, decent spec for less than PC World, working well after a month of use
It arrrived broken, processor moved in transit
It got sent back - eventually - took days to get this arranged
Another arrived, again it took far too long
And it arrived broken again
This time, a support guy talked me through resiting the processor which was a new skill for me - amazingly it worked.
Then I discovered that all my calls re problems, returns and resiting cost quite a lot - which was annoying given it was not my fault.
Support guys were very pleasant and competent but the return and repair process is not too efficient.
However I would use them again.
I provided my credit card details in December for a repair.
At the end of March I am still waiting and cannot get an adequate reply from them. They now seem to be ignoring me.
The service seems completely disorganised. Ignoring me is a poor customer service policy.
Follow up - 2/4/2012, hopefully progressing to a satisfactory conclusion
Follow up - 20/4/2012, hmmm? still waiting ...... hopefully
