Why would they want my marriage certificate???

I ordered a hard drive from Ebuyer, updating my address on an old account. I'd been married since then and my surname had changed. It would not let me change my surname. I placed the order, giving my card details and put the order through and then sent a message saying my name had changed and could they adjust it.

They refused. They wanted my marriage certificate.

I'm able to change Government details, DVLA details, all sorts of details for ID purposes without sending off a marriage certificate, but this sales company won't change my name without seeing my marriage certificate....yet they'll take my card details in my new name quite happily.

Sort yourselves out ebuyer, take your head out of your ass, you're a company selling a product - I can go anywhere and don't have to buy from you. Loads of other online shops have happily changed my name and enjoyed my business.

The product finally arrived...using my name, but had kept part of my old address in the address section, despite me updating all my details. I'm amazed it reached me.

Reply from Ebuyer (UK) Ltd.

I am sorry to hear you are not happy with the service you received from Ebuyer.

For our customers security and our own security we do require proof when amending a name on an account.

I apologise for the annoyance and inconvenience caused by this and hope this has not affected your confidence in ordering from Ebuyer.

Kind Regards

Dreadful experience

We booked flights and accomodation to New York through Expedia via Travelsupermarket's website. There were 4 of us and we wanted two rooms. When the confirmation came through, Expedia had booked all 4 of us into 1 room and one bed. When we rang up Expedia blamed us for booking it incorrectly and refused to sort it out. We had to ring TRADING STANDARDS to get advice and confirmation that we were in our rights, which we were, there was a website error. Not our fault. A further call which took over an hour and we still got nowhere with Expedia. We put it in writing, giving them 7 days to sort it out. Still nothing. A further call and lots of being put on hold and being passed around and finally someone agreed to cancel the original hotel and book us into somewhere else BUT AT OUR EXPENSE.

This was their error and we had to suffer for it. Expedia being the huge company that they are, would not budge to put things right that they had done wrong. They preferred to blame us, Travelsupermarket, anyone but themselves who were responsible. It would have taken them a couple of minutes to sort this out, but instead they were just awkard with us.

Expedia, if you're reading this, you've lost all my future trade. I've circulated this story extensively which I hope will damage any further trade you could possibly have.

Good company

Good company who always beat flight prices when I've been shopping around. Friendly staff who work hard to put packages together and are reasonable to deal with. Would recommend.

Broadbandstuff

Charged my card but didn't supply

I ordered an item through Broadbandstuff that they didn't have in stock and had no plans to restock (so why advertise it on your website??). They contacted me to tell me they couldn't supply, offered a number of alternatives at much higher cost that were far cheaper on Amazon and wouldn't price match. I told them I would not be buying from them and we left it at that.

My credit card statement arrived today and they went ahead and charged my card!!! I've had to ring my card holder and have them intervene.

Avoid people, take heed. Avoid!

Vigano Ltd

Poor service

I ordered an iRobot from this company and heard nothing from them for several days. I emailed to ask when it would come, they replied to say they had emailed me to say it was out of stock and they were trying to source a different model. I checked, no email had ever been received, not even in my junk email folder.

The next day I emailed again to ask what was happening and was fobbed off.

The next day I emailed again, still fobbed off.

Today they've finally admitted they can't supply.

Timewasters.
