As we are the only house in the street with the old metal windows, (we bought an ex council house, the council replaced all the other windows in the street with double glazing) I was concerned my house would be easier to break into than double glazed houses. I bought 2 of these for each of the 3 windows on the back of my house, as my garden isn't overlooked, and the roof on one side of my decking finishes just below my sons bedroom window. (could be used to climb on to get in maybe)
When I was sticking these to the windows, i pulled the plastic tab out of the battery compartment before i stuck the first alarm to the window, and the noise gave me such a fright i dropped the alarm onto the floor, and all my children came running to see what the noise was.
After sticking them all to the required windows, i gently flicked one window with an alarm on, and the alarm went straight off. This was only on a low setting.
I only turn the alarms on when the house is empty now, as i'm a little concerned that if it's really windy they'll go off and scare the living daylights out of us. I definately feel safer knowing I have these alarms on my windows.
i'm going to try these alarms when I am in the house, and when I am feeling braver to see if the wind does set them off or not! Would definately buy them again though. The neighbours will certainly hear these alarms even from round the back of my house.
I wanted a vibro plate machine, but not at a huge price and found that sport and leisure uk do refurbished ones, still with a 12 month warranty. I called, rather than buy over the internet, and the lady I spoke with was polite and helpful. After the phonecall I had no updates until the delivery driver called to say he would be bringing it the next day (9 days from ordering to delivery) He arrived when he said he would, carried this huge great machine into my house for me and put it in front of the tv so i'll use it more! I'd buy from this company again, no problems
