I ordered a new black suit for an event a few days afterwards. It was delivered on time however only the blazer was delivered the trousers were missing. On inspection the blazer was had been mis-advertised as well, the collar was a "pleather" material and did not look nice at all. I also realised that although their website had accepted the promo code I had entered they had billed me without it applied.
I emailed Burton to ask why I had not received the trousers and whether I should expect a seperate delivery, I received no reply. A few days later I checked online and the quantity of the trousers had been changed to zero, I emailed again and mentioned this and still no reply. A few days later I lodged a dispute on PayPal (luckily I paid by PayPal!) and received an email within a few hours advising a collection for the blazer would take place the following day, a full refund would be processed and they were sorry I had not received an email regarding the trousers being cancelled however I should have. She said she was aware that the promo code had not worked and that was because the website does not accept multiple codes (one was free delivery, one was student discount) however it does state it is accepted but does not adjust the order total. She offered me free delivery on my next order.
The trousers were collected as promised but I then heard noting from them and no refund was initiated, I escalated my claim on PayPal and there was no reply. Eventually I got my money back from PayPal but this took weeks from when the issue originally would have been resolved.
I buy from Burton a lot in-store but after this experience I will never use them again.
I ordered a new wallet from Debenhams, for a christmas present.
After a couple of weeks and having heard nothing from them since the order confirmation I got concerned and tracked my order online.
Not only had the quantity increased from 1 to 2 (I did not request this) but it had also been cancelled without my request or any notification.
As I'm sure you can understand this left me confused and angry. With only an 0844 number on their website (50p per minute from my mobile) I have no intention of contacting them or ordering from them again.
I made a booking for an executive lounge at Manchester airport, on arriving the booking was made in the wrong terminal. I called them and they said there was nothing they could do but if I emailed them once I was back from my holiday I would get a refund. 2 emails and a week later I've still not had a reply, I tried calling and the agent seemed unable to hear me (my phone is working fine) and then hung up and whenever I try to call back I get a message saying all their operators are on calls and I should call back later with the call then terminated.
Thanks god I paid on credit card so I can take up the dispute with them.
I would avoid like this company like the plague, they don't seem to care about customer service at all - any company that did would have issued a refund immediately.
