Yodel - or the NANTGARW DEPOT at least - represents the absolute very worst aspect of delivery companies in the UK. They show no interest in listening to customers and every interest in blocking all contact with customers and of refusing to handle a delivery when they just can't be bothered. My delivery has a complete address. I did manage to speak to someone in Yodel customer services and asked them to see for themselves that my address on the package is complete by checking against my post code. The gentleman on the phone did so and told me that he could see that my address is COMPLETE. Country properties frequently have no street name because country roads are not named. But that is exactly why my phone number was available for the driver to ring in case there was any question at all about how to find the address. The day it was out for delivery no one phoned. Instead the driver returned it to depot with 'unable to locate' noted. No wonder as they made no attempt to phone and ask. The next day, rather than phone it was held at the depot tagged with 'incomplete address' as an excuse. I spoke to customer services who confirmed the address is the full and complete postal address. There is nothing more that can be added. Customer service told me they would reschedule the package to be delivered the next working day, Monday. On Monday I found Nantgarw depot had put a new tag of 'incomplete address' against the delivery. So they are refusing to deliver until some more address is added. But there is no more address to add. The whole of my village has similar format addresses. So do many country villages. So there is no way out of this if Nantgarw will not phone and will not attempt to deliver without more lines of address. To make matters worse I then found I was unable to speak to anyone by phone again as all options now led to an automatic tracking service or back to the website. So I could not discover what Yodel intends to do about this and I could not make a second attempt to encourage them to phone me to ask what ever further information they feel they may need. It appears that my only option is to ask the retailer to recall the package and not to use Yodel again.
