Had a terrible time with my car only to learn the biggest problem was the false economy of second hand tyres last time around - silly me, the garage I was using for the ;'diagnostic' quoted me £99 per tyre . After checking on line I saw that the offers on 4 tyres meant that I could, for around the same price, go to Halfords, or commission E Tyres. After a couple of calls to E tyres to confirm tyre sizes; get advice on brands; and double check the next morning was possible I ordered with no problem. Waiting the next morning I had an extra coffee and did some work - easier than sitting in Halfords!
There was a glitch when the operatives mobile did not work, but I again had courteous responses from my calls to E Tyres and when the man with the van arrived just 30 minutes saw all tyres renewed, including the mandatory 'view the final tightening'. My 'false economy feeling' of the last change was compounded by finding I had different size tyres in the wrong configuration. I will recommend E tyres, with the proviso that 'offer' prices compare favourably. Thank you all.
I found Glasses Direct gave me and, more recently, my daughter a great service. Sample frames within 48 hours of requesting, and completed frames well within their target times. A bit fed up their phone inquiry line hours are less friendly to working folk, like no Saturday's. With my prescription being so complicated and her's so simple its a good contrast, and the savings were immense - I estimate around £250 across both purchases, even more if you say we got two pairs of glasses each, and that saving is against only one pair each. If you give it a try I hope you have a similar good experience
I learned of the service through the FSA web site. I experienced the advice given as thoughtful and tailored to my needs with a good level of consideration about my personal circumstances. The time scales given were a little optimistic, but manageable. Lee was personable and responsive throughout. Thank you
I continue to use Tesco as it is close and I have a reward card BUT the pressure for profit is, in my view, having a real impact on customer service with my local store (Altrincham) having understocked shelves, too many 'home delivery trolley's, and too few staff too often; although the staff who are there work hard to offer a good degree of customer service.
I use E bay to buy quite a bit and occasionally sell. It's important to 'practice' before bidding, follow the advice to check seller ratings, and be sure they have sold more than a few items - sad experiences of losing some £'s but have to share responsibility as I did not follow my own advice to never send payment first except through pay pal.
