It's definitely unusual for customers to not receive their order confirmation, as these emails are sent automatically at the time of purchase. The confirmation email is also used as the trigger for the Trustpilot review process, so in this case, the email was certainly sent.
It's always worth checking your spam/junk inbox, as some email providers can block the email with their over enthusiastic spam filters. Adding the email no-reply@stuff4hottubs.co.uk to your address book will usually stop any spam filtering too.
