Ordered a waterproof case for a Canon camera which was £20 cheaper than anywhere else on the Web. Placed order on Sunday 1st of December. Parcel despatched on Monday 2nd with DHL, where I was able to track it's progress all the way from Hong Kong to my door at 2 pm on Tuesday the 3rd. That's better than a lot of UK companies can do! Excellent service.
Update: ordered a Canon camera on Thursday the 5th of December as another retailer let me down. I needed to receive it by Thursday the 12th as I was going on holiday the next day. Because I had had such good service on my previous order I thought I'd use them again. Parcel got despatched on Friday the 6th with DHL and again I managed to track it's progress right up until it got delivered to my door at mid afternoon on Wednesday the 11th. Not quite as quick as my previous order but still excellent. Would definitely recommend.
Ordered a Camera from VB on the 30th of November but after nearly a week the order status had still not changed so after asking for express delivery and getting a response saying that unfortunately that this option was not possible I finally contacted VB to cancel my order on the 6th of December.
VB responded by saying that miraculously that my order was nearly ready to ship and should be despatched in 2-4 days (although my order status was still showing order accepted as it had done since I had placed my order).
I wrote back to them insisting that they cancel the order (as their knowledge base says you can cancel anytime up to when your order status is either fully allocated or shipped as I was going away and was unlikely to be available to accept the delivery by the time it arrived. VB replied saying that they would try to cancel the order but couldn't guarantee that it wouldn't still be shipped and if it was I should not accept delivery.
On the 11th of December some 5 days later I received an automated dispatched email with a DPD tracking number. By the 13th of December nothing had arrived and that was the day I left for a three week holiday over Christmas.
On my return I checked the tracking number status of the parcel and found that it had arrived in a warehouse in Holland and the final entry said returned on the 17th of December.
After checking my credit card I discovered that I had not been refunded for the cancelled order so I contacted VB to let them know that I had not received my refund and that if I did not receive my refund soon I would have to contact my credit card companies fraud team..
After 2 emails and over 48 hours I got a non committal stock reply saying how sorry they did not have an update on my case and that it had been escalated and they would contact me about any movement as soon as it occurs. As far as I can tell, taking money for goods you have not supplied is quite a good basis for a refund so I'm not quite sure what updates in my case are necessary.
Another 48 hours later I have heard nothing so I have been in contact with my credit card issuers fraud team to create an investigation in to the transaction.
This company may be cheap but frankly the savings are just not worth the trade off of customer service.

When I ordered my drill and impact driver they were showing out of stock with 20 being delivered on the 26th of March. On the 26th my order changed to allocated and then to dispatched. I received it the next day via citylink. Great service and a great price.
