Having enticed me in to a "free" website, I was then asked to set up a direct debit, and asked for 26 pounds just to register a domain name. I then tried to cancel the whole thing, seeing that the company was untrustworthy. But no button for cancellation was provided ANYWHERE ON THE SITE, even thought this was a month's free trial. First, they wanted me to call an 0845 (charged) number, to 'cancel the Website Builder' - presumably just a way to make it difficult to cancel. They refused to cancel the direct debit, saying I should ask my bank. Of course my bank said they didn't have the details of the direct debit yet, and sent me back to 123-Reg. On going back to 123-Reg, they are currently saying I "hung up too early for confirmation that (I) wanted to cancel the Website Builder", and I should call the 0845 number again. I have now pointed out that since I've told them in writing that I do NOT want any account, or anything else to do with them again, they should take my written instruction as proof, or call me, as they seem to be suggesting. They have now kept up this extremely annoying and stressful behaviour for FOUR DAYS. BEWARE. Agents: Danny and Sebastian.
