My first connection with Red Dog Music was when I submitted a question about setting up the guitar before dispatch. I asked the question over the net about 9:30 PM and I had a reply waiting for me when I opened my email first thing the next day. I placed my order over the Internet at 6:30 PM. By mid-morning the next day I had an email from Red Dog telling me that my order was ready to be dispatched. Thereafter I kept getting updates from them until I heard my guitar was on its way i.e. within hours of placing the order. These are examples of just how good their communication with the customer is. If only other Internet companies did the same.
It gets better. The courier company they use also keeps the customer updated and gives a one hour time band for delivery.
As if this wasn't enough the guitar I ordered has a recommended retail price of £199 and they were selling it for £129.
By the way the guitar is a LAG Tramonte and I am delighted with it. Great value for money.
Altogether a great purchasing experience.
I bought a memory card from Offtek via the internet and it arrived next day. On opening my laptop I discovered all the expansion slots were used up so I couldn't fit the card. They authorised a refund immediately and within 24 hours of me returning the product they had credited my card with the full amount.
I am very pleased with the service and would recommend Offtek to anyone
I ordered a potting bench + 2 growing sacks on 2 April. The site claims the delivery is 10-14 days. I chased this order twice, each time being told they were expecting to send out as soon as possible. I eventually received the order today, one month after my order date. Several points about this:
* Once the order is placed, the small print says 28 days delivery, so why give the impression it's 10 to 14 days: it's misleading.
* They took my money straight away. That's fine for a company like Amazon who usually deliver within 24 hours. (In fact I've ordered over the 'net with companies who delivered within hours.) Greenfingers have sat on my money for a month - and I'm not happy about that.
*Looking through the reviews I'm not the only one who has endured this. It's totally unacceptable, Greenfingers.
* I was not kept informed of progress (lack of) but had to do all the chasing myself.
As if that wasn't enough .....
The package arrived today. Upon opening it, I find that although the packer has ticked the pick list as all complete, it isn't. I've received only one grow sack, not the two ordered. And just to make my day complete, the screws which hold the potting bench table together have been put in in such a way that they've torn through the wood, and the bits of wood are just dangling together. Whoever put my order together clearly didn't give a damn.
I'll be phoning Greenfingers tomorrow for them to collect this heap of junk and if I don't get good service I'll be posting here again.
I ordered a 6' x8' Gardman polycarbonate greenhouse @ £279 from Waltons. I engaged two professional gardeners to erect the greenhouse, and they have put together many greenhouses before. After much sweating and swearing, they had to give up on this one. The house is secured to the base by flimsy clips. The uprights are secured in a similar fashion, but there are no location holes to guide where exactly to locate them. Having got two uprights swaying, you then have to slot the (flimsy) polycarb .sheets into them, without the uprights moving, which is impossible because at this stage they are loose - you don't know the exact position yet. The instructions are awful, the nuts and bolts strip threads because they are rubbish. Do not buy this piece of c**p.
Trying to get a return, I waited in a telephone queue for 12 minutes (my phone has a timer) all the while being told my call was important to them. Clearly it wasn't or they would employ more staff. When I got through I wasn't entirely convinced the telephone agent had an idea what to do.
So I phoned back next day, when I got through after 2 minutes and spoke to someone who knew what they were doing. It was clear the first telephone agent had done nothing about my first call. Even so I had to prompt the second agent for a reference number - he didn't volunteer it, I had to wheedle it out of him. Telephone training much needed, Waltons.
They couriers collected the greenhouse. That was a week ago and having looked at my internet bank account just now I see Waltons still haven't refunded me. I see from other reviews that other customers have had trouble. Waltons, when you read this, look out. If I don't get refunded soon, you'll be knee deep in paperwork from Trading Standards and Mastercard merchant services.
POSTSCRIPT: PLEASE NOTICE THAT WALTONS REPLY TO ALL THESE COMPLAINTS IS SIMPLY "THANK YOU FOR YOUR FEEDBACK." SOMEONE HAS JUST COPY-AND-PASTED THAT INTO EVERYBODY'S GENUINE COMMENTS. THAT'S ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HOW MUCH WALTONS CARE ABOUT YOU, FOLKS.
BY THE WAY, HAVING BOUGHT THROUGH THE SAFETY OF PAYPAL, I NOW HAVE TO WAIT OVER 30 DAYS FOR THE REFUND TO SHOW UP IN MY BANK ACCOUNT. BEWARE!
