I have had a business account with Natwest for over a year now. To my horror part of Natwest Direct Business has been sold to Santander including our account which if you know Santander's level of customer complaints this is my opinion was a bad move.
As a small business we expect every now and then to incur charges but the last amount applied by Natwest tipped us over the edge and i vowed if applied to move.
I have always been advised by Natwest branch advisors that any cash paid in over the counter was available immediately. It mattered not if paid in over the counter or through their internal cash machine.
One Friday at 5.15pm i deposited £250.00 into our business account. The account balance confirmed this amount was available to use. Later that evening i transferred money online to a creditor. To my disgust when i received our pre-advice charges later that month i noticed a £30.00 charge had been applied for going overdrawn that day as the money credited had not been 'credited' to our credit to the following Monday. Immediately i went in to the branch concerned complaining about the charge taking all documentation including my receipt stating the money had been deposited and shown as being available to withdraw. They photocopied the information and said they would investigate my complaint. Around a week later i got a letter from them stating they had investigated and was sorry but the charge was to remain as it had been applied in line with the accounts terms and conditions.
Disgusted i tried to telephone the person directly and was told she was on lunch and was informed i would get a return call. I took the time that evening to write to the individual. The phone call never came and i have to date not received a reply. The charge was subsequently applied to my account.
On that basis and for other issues i have experienced in the past i have decided to close our account as their slogan ‘Here to help’ no longer seems to apply.
I will complain to the Financial Ombudsmen but hold little faith in their action as i have never had any luck with them in the past; i sometimes wonder who funds them?
With an easy to use website and a good range of products i would not hesitate to recommend this company. I purchased some items for a family member on the Monday and received them Tuesday, impressive. Not only were the products delivered quickly they were also packaged extremely well something which not all companies do these days relying on an element of 'postal luck'. Overall a good all round experience.
Paypal has come in for some serious criticism over the past few years but as a business user I’m starting to find myself saying more positives then negatives about them these days. One of the advantages of using Paypal from a business point of view is that they offer protection under their Seller Protection Policy. For instance in the unlikely event of a chargeback occurring, something that most retailers dread you do have the chance to appeal and unlike card service providers i have dealt with in the past Paypal remain neutral and do not always side with the buyer regardless.
I also like the fact that customers who use Paypal for purchases would have had a certain amount of information such as address and a debit or credit card verified by Paypal.
Paypal is not fraud proof method of accepting payments but it certainly does in my opinion offer safeguards that other payment service providers do not,
Paypal are not the cheapest way to accept online payments but in my opinion they are one of the safest out there today with ever increasing online fraud.
I have used this company several times over the past few years. I find their prices great and their service second to none. They have always been on time and their fitters friendly and keen to help. Its amazing how many people that i know have never used a mobile tyre fitting service. If you want an easy to use service that comes to you at a price that is hard to beat elsewhere then look no further than this company. Worthy of five stars!
I have used this company and found them to be reliable and trustworthy delivering on their promises at a price that i found could not be beaten anywhere else!
Fantastic.......
Since being purchased by Santander their service has fallen to in my opinion an unsatisfactory level.
I had a flex-loan with Cahoot and they increased the rate from around 6.8% to 14.9% to finally 19.99% within the space of twelve months.
When i struggled to pay they called in the loan and defaulted me. That was four years ago now.
In my opinion Cahoot/Santander are a company that offer poor service and have even worse ethics.
In my opinion Handepay are not the best company to use. Their sales people mis-lead us and failed to explain key facts instead focussing on the benefits of their services which resulted in us being locked in a three year contract paying £23.99 a month with Merchant Rentals for our card terminal even though this had been returned to them without use.
In my opinion I would not recommend using Handepay and if you do make sure you read the small print extremely well and ensure the information completed by the salesperson is correct.
