2010 I took over a business property with British Gas already supplying electricity, got the welcome pack from them but no bills for 6 months then their agent forced entry to disconnect on previous tenants debt. Had to pay connection deposit £500 and previous tenants debt meanwhile no heating so plumbing burst. I made a formal complaint which they still have not dealt with.
2011 86 year old, lone parent's house with a British Gas boiler cover agreement, I discovered that British Gas had not been servicing the boiler although paid to do so, opened boiler front panel to discover year old condemnation notice but boiler left working! They came out same day and serviced the boiler.
My opinion: British Gas can wreck your world.

Staff are outstanding, they look undernourished and may be underpaid and may not see much sunshine but they are just great. Product knowledge is pretty good and I get what I want. Rarely do I leave with just what I went in for because the displays are good and the offers are good. Still buy stuff that I don't use for a while! Love the dated format of the stores there is nothing like it out there. Business wise its a shame that more people don't know about them.
The gigantic superstore lacking staff does not appeal to me Asda does caring staff better. Specialised parts of Tesco are excellent like the phone store or the TV/computer depts where staff seem to know what they are doing and are friendly. You have to actively seek assistance in Tesco whereas in Waitrose they spot the need. Guess it is down to training and empowering staff. I go into Tesco if there is no alternative but I don't enjoy it.
Discovered Aldi last year for food saved lots of money and the products are good. Ambience is not a factor here, would go to Waitrose when looking for a longer shopping trip. Aldi saves time with a small store footprint and I estimate a cost saving of 20% over major supermarket stores. This Aldi shopper also likes the Co-op.
Too much american drama where the people and the scenarios all look the same it just turns you off. F1 coverage is weak compared with the BBC and the F1 anchorman seems bored with the whole process, if Brundle was not there I would skip the practice and the race day intro, too much high tech demo and not enough straight talk. Sky Arts is brilliant. So there is good and bad.
it all worked well, fitted straight out of the box, and the prices were right.
