My prescription changed this year and I asked my optician for a quote for a new pair of glasses. It was going to be £450-£500 for a single pair for what I wanted. Almost identical pair at Glasses Direct was £232 but this included a second free pair as well. The free home trial service is worth using as you can make sure that you get a pair that suits your face style.
4th time I've used glasses direct and any problems have been sorted out quite quickly and to my satisfaction. I would use them again and would recommend them to others.
Ordered 2 x T - Shirts and 2 x Hoodies from this place, absolutely no problems at all, had to contact customer service and received a prompt reply that answered the question that I asked rather than just a load of waffle cut and pasted from somewhere. Not the cheapest place to buy clothing but had no problems with the order and would most certainly use again.
Ordered a new desktop system on 31/12/12 costing about £755. Was kept informed of every stage of the build right up to the dispatch date, I had a couple of queries during the build process and PC Specialist were very helpful in answering the questions that I raised.
Desktop arrived on the day and within the time frame that they said it would. PC works fine but there were three problems which I suspect novice users would have not been able to resolve.
1) I ordered an additional sound card for the PC as opposed to using the on board sound and the sound card had been installed but no sound was coming from it. A quick removal of the side cover on the PC revealed that it had not been pushed fully home into the motherboard. It was quite a way out, not sure if this was caused in transit or if it hadn’t been tested and picked up properly in the quality assurance process but either way, I’m not sure a novice would have had the confidence or skill to do this. Sound card now works fine
2) Two sets of graphics drivers were installed in error when it only should have been one set. This caused an error message to come up in a pop up box after about 2 minutes when booting into the desktop. Didn't stop operation of computer but was annoying. I emailed PC Specialist with the query as to how to resolve and instructions were sent on return on how to do it. When I carried out the instructions to the letter the machine suddenly powered off and when I re started I was told a fatal error had occurred and that Windows was going to re start from "last known good". After surfing around I found that graphics drivers are best removed using specialist removal tools as opposed to using the control panel uninstall. After using a specialist driver removal tool, all works ok now.
3) The on board dial up modem does not appear to work, get an error message when I try and connect to it, as I wasn’t particularly bothered about this, I’m leaving it alone.
Overall happy with the experience and I am pleased with the PC, just have a few concerns around the testing and quality assurance process. If every component had been tested properly then these three things would have been picked up, hence why 4 stars and not 5.
Booked an apartment in the Lake District with these people for 2 weeks due to go in August/September 2013. Booking went through ok.
Next day had a phone call from somebody at the place saying that the property was not available and that the owner had let it to one of his friends for the 2 weeks that I wanted. He then stated that he could find me somewhere else but I'd have to pay the difference otherwise "he would loose out". I'm sure he would but it was his fault!
What made things worse that they took the deposit knowing that a place was not available.
If I were you I'd avoid at all costs as clearly the place is not run by professionals....
Ordered 3 bottles of Kirkland Minoxidil 5% solution. Usually this stuff can retail for as much as £30 a bottle but it was on special offer of £18.65 for 3 bottles with free delivery.
The website says payment is only taken on dispatch, this isn't the case. They took payment the day I ordered the products (26th March). The goods were allegedly dispatched on March 31st but they didn't arrive until April 8th.
The goods arrived OK by Royal Mail and were exactly as described but not convinced that the order was dispatched on the 31st March as they had said.
Overall very pleased considering the poor reviews of the company elsewhere and yes I would use them again.
Over the last year or so I've purchased private prescriptions, NHS prescriptions and also non prescription items. Have never failed to impress once, excellent service. Perhaps I'm just the lucky one...
