We ordered a King Size bed from bedworld. They delivered - in two separate deliveries -a queen size bed. I took a day off work in order to wait for delivery. Even ex Government bodies such as BT and British Gas now allocate time slots, whereas bedworld insisted that their delivery could be any time between 9.00 and 5.00. Only half the delivery arrived on the stated day and it took four telephone calls for me to find out that the reminder would not be received until the next day. Therefore, I was forced to take a further day off work at a cost of 250 pounds minimum.
I contacted their customer care department to ask for compensation and was told that they do not compensate people for late delivery. When I pressed in three further calls, I was offered two pillows but was advised that their terms and conditions do not allow for any compensation. Their terms and conditions appear nowhere on the web site nor are they featured on the Google net order confirmation.
I have been in communication with their General Manager, Debbie Jones, who has now taken to ignoring my emails having promised to contact me immediately after meeting with their Trading Standards officer - two weeks ago.
I am surprised Google is happy to feature companies of such a nature on their shopping options. I am about to bring legal proceedings and their Companies House record may give cause for concern.
