We recently flew with BA to the USA, I have to say I was quite disappointed with the standard of service and the quality of the plane. The staff at the check in desk were very friendly and helpful but the crew on board the flight were quite rude and abrupt in the way they spoke to passengers, I also thought it was very rude whilst they were serving drinks and food that the crew members continued to have their personal conversations in french instead of concentrating on what they were doing. When we requested drinks we were told we would be seen in a minute and then proceeded to wait over 20 minutes, after requesting again we waiting a further 20 minutes, ending up going to the galley and seeing the crew for a third time.
The screens were tiny on a so called 'new' plane compared to other airlines and the remote on my seat looked like it had not been cleaned since the plane went into service.
If BA feels this is world class service I think they need to take a very close look at the opposition as they are getting trounced by the likes of Virgin, Qatar, Oman, Malaysian to name a few.
I only flew Ba on this occasion to get my Air Miles as American Airlines did not fly direct, but I wish I had flown with United as their service really is world class.
This was the second time I have used Rentalcars, though the first time was excellent they let me down a little on this occasion. Whilst on vacation I needed to change the booking and needed the reservation bought forward by a week. The day I needed the car I was unable to get through to Rentalcars even though they state they are open 24 hours, so I sent an email, they missed the pick up time and date I wanted as their reply did not arrive until the next day and then instead of booking the vehicle for pick up that day they stated they did not know my requirements and so requested I contact them. In the end I got through to Rentalcars but it took me over a day to sort out, with countless phone calls to Dollar car rental as well as emails and calls to Rentalcars.
My only gripe would be with the technology we have this day and age if you are open 24 hours why did it take so long to reply and sort out.
