'LOST' my return

I accidentally ordered the same items twice as their website crashed when I made the first payment. I didn't realise it had actually gone through but when I received both packages I followed their online instructions for return.
They get you to print out a free post sheet but in the small print they ask you to send it recorded. I didn't notice this and just sent it normally. Lore and behold the item has not reached them. Customer service is just a live chat with a condescending tone asking for the recorded item No knowing fine well I don't have it.
If you don't send it recorded they can potentially keep the item and don't refund you. This has happened to loads of people, read the reviews, too much to be a coincidence. Avoid like the plague.
