Don't use a High Street bank !

I read an article in The Times on 23rd April 2011, "Avoid the banks when sending cash abroad". So a month ago, on behalf of a relative living in the USA, I offered to deal with the transfer of a smallish amount of money from her UK on-line account (with Barclays) to a USA account, because I was certain she'd get more money than if she just "left it to the bank". I'd never done this before. I shopped around on line and chose The FX Firm because they offered the best rate and met the necessary security requirements. The people I spoke to were helpful and re-assuring, so I used them.

Everything went through without a hitch. My relative got the money quickly and ended up with more of it !

I'd use FX again, and am happy to recommend them.
