Hurst Iw
Service good on this occasion but not what it used to be.
Hurst's used to be the best hardware shop I'd been to anywhere. Regrettably, service in the stores themselves has become so poor I no longer use them.
On this occasion I was after a couple of kitchen appliances and had seen a Hurst advertisement in a local paper. I looked on line and found the items to be cheaper than anywhere else. Delivery was free but slow. Hurst's own delivery service on the day was like the service used to be in the shops, efficient, happy and polite.
I would use the on-line service again, but it will take a major improvement in staff attitudes before I use the shops again.
Pet Supermarket
Excellent service.
I was after a reasonably specialised item for an aquatic set-up (phosphate reactor). I was amazed that Pet Supermarket carries such an item and beat the specialist companies in price and delivery. Impressive service.
Glasses Direct
Not as good a deal as it looked.
Glasses Direct had a very good deal on and I bought two pairs of reading glasses. Given the quality of the frames, I would not have paid more as they seemed no better than off-the-shelf varieties found in pharmacies. The cases they came in though were excellent, the best I have seen. Overall a good service, but I would not have been happy paying the full price for each pair of glasses.
