After a botched operation in 2011, Ultralase then informed me that it had been put into Administration. They were in administration when I took the contract.
Their sister Company Optimax then 'took on' the warranty - but all of the 'treatment' I had from them was displacement activity.
I have been in severe pain for a year. I telephoned again after they put me on anti-biotics for 3 months.
It turns out that the even this 'after sales' care is no longer available - and the company has just walked away form my botched operation. I am taking legal advice.
Avoid both companies like the plague.
Negative reviews by me and several others of a window company and its sister company have all been erased.
The complaints against that company were very serious. They included poor quality workmanship, bad service, poor products, zero communication. In my case, it also included fraudulent credit card use.
My review and all other reviews were removed.
This company is a real problem for consumers. They need to know what they are getting themselves into.
All the reviews were removed by Trust pilot without an investigation. My complaints to Trust pilot were answered but no explanation could be given as to why they were taken off and why no contact was made with me about it.
To be clear. ALL negative reviews were removed for two companies. There were about 8 or 9 in all.
My conclusion is that Trust Pilot is not a reliable forum for consumer protection in the least.
Have banked with Smile since 1999. Significant funds go through the account. HAve three accounts with them. They won't lend. When we needed an urgent bridging loan they told us basically to forget it. They would have taken 8 weeks they said. We asked for a 7K loan a few years back - and they just didn't respond to the request at all!
We did finally get a loan from them, but the they withdrew overdraft and credit up to 40% of the value of the loan. It was too late by that time so i had to accept.
Rule 1 with Smile. Do not expect to strike up a lending relationship. As you get older and wealthier - you will wish you had banked with someone else.
Rule 2 with Smile. Don't save with them. I don't think they have a product with interest of over 1%. Their ISA pays less than my savings account. All a total waste of time.
The customer service is good. But thats not enough for a Bank.
We will be transferring our accounts shortly.

I have never had to write to a company and thank them profusely for their stunning customer service before.
Its a little off putting having a disjointed service trail through a call centre but the staff involved in my recent mortgage application really meant it when they said they thoguht they could get it all ready in 2 weeks.
They really did do it - every part of the process worked pefectly. Survey done in 3 days. Loan approved 2 days later - forms sent same day.
We were in a real fix - and stood to lose thousands due to a less than satisfactory performance by another bank who pulled out at the last minute from an off plan sale.
Previously, they stepped into the shoes of our not so good bank and lent us money when we needed it. Loan was processed in 7 days flat.
Top quality organisation all round.
