I purchased my first Samsung laptop and within a few months the screen cracked - without any impact!!!. (I live alone, the laptop is always on the desk, there was no impact- the only thing I can think could have caused this was closing the lid?) When I say screen I mean the layer behind the screen, there is no physical crack on the monitor /screen surface. I went to a Samsung service centre and contacted Samsung as I believe a unit such as a laptop should be built robust - they however expect me to pay £180 + £60 inspection fee to fix it because they believe no screen crack could 'ever' be a manufacturers fault. I can't speak for others, but in this case they couldn't be more wrong. I didn't drop it, I have owned dells' ibm thinkpads, Sony vaio's before, actually dropped my thinkpad once and never had such damage. When a company produces items that should last years, that's what they should do, and Samsung response - or lack of is appalling
