Spent a long time agonising over whether to trust DigitalRev with my money. There are review sites other than trustpilot which contain a frankly staggering volume of positive reviews, which I spent a lot of time reading and many of them appeared to be like so much astroturfing. Enough of the reviews however seemed genuine that I decided to give them a go.
In short, I'm glad I did. I found a Nikon P7100 for about £100 cheaper than I could get one here in the UK. They had it on back order so it took about a fortnight, but from the start DigitalRev quoted me a delivery window of 3 days duration and my camera arrived on the second of those days. It would've been the first day, but a processing error by DHL caused it to be delayed by 24 hours.
When the parcel arrived there was no import duty/VAT to pay (although admittedly I took out some cash just as a precaution, since I have had trouble previously with overseas shipments where mistakes were made). It was cocooned in bubble wrap and sealed in a DHL air freight bag.
The P7100 is brand new in a sealed box with all packaging and printed manuals, sadly (but not unexpectedly) in Chinese. DigitalRev provided a link to download the English version, but the link was for a secured, non-printable PDF. Slightly annoying, however a quick Google found a printable version.
My experience doesn't (and hopefully never will) include trying to make any warranty claim. If the camera goes belly up I fully expect it to be difficult at best trying to get a replacement. I was unable to register it at Nikon.co.uk (non-EMEA serial number) which I tried when I was on my initial hunt for an English manual, so if you're buying anything from DigitalRev I would say there's pretty much no point in attempting to register it. Just hope it doesn't break down.
Overall and with the above caveat I'm very happy with DigitalRev's service. They had by far the best price, they delivered exactly when they said they would, communication was great (I got notifications when I placed the order, when it was ready for shipping, and once more after it had shipped) and they were true to their word with regard to import duty/VAT. (Lol either that or they somehow get away with not paying it. Best not to look a gift horse in the mouth imho.)
DHL's tracking info is very detailed, but sometimes slow to update. It does the job though and you can sign up for SMS notifications if you want.
