Cult Pens

Perfect service in an imperfect world.

I was lured back to the idea of fountain pens by The Pen Addict podcast, and started searching in the UK for someone with a huge range of pens, at a non silly price and with a good reputation, to entice me into buying an aluminium Lamy Nexx fountain pen with an orange cap.
I also wanted a lovely ink, to compliment what I hoped was going to be an inspirational buy in pens. No pressure there then.

The range of enticingly named inks from Noodler caught my eye on Glenn's Pens review - job done Noodler marketing. Yet, their prices in the UK were quite rich, while the bottle, though totally feely to admire, held only just enough in size rather than exactly enough - it's a fine line.

Further searching dug up Diamine inks, made in England since 1864 and with a size of bottle that held exactly enough ink.
I eventually plumped for their Rustic Brown. I know, the name ... but the pedigree, history and local manufacture more than made up for that.

Cult Pens had by this time crossed my horizon and I had had great pleasure in digging into their deceptively deep product catalogue. Also, they had a pleasant absence of over-the-top flashiness and incoherent blazes of marketing colour on their web site.
Understated wins, for people and products who have already been matched up and are just looking for a source.
I ordered, and the items arrived in a day or so, perfectly protectively packed, complete and exactly right.

Thank you Cult Pens - although I feel I should be doing this review in pen, on paper and sending you it to you in the mail.

Excellent Cult Pen service all round. What shopping should always have been like but rarely was.
