I like Comet but their stores don't seem to have everything on display. I went to look for a PC keyboard but the limited ones they have are all in boxes. I have bought a really good printer from them and a TV but for smaller items they don't seem to be dedicated to. The prices are reasonable and I did register with them to receive emails but I don't often find a bargain.
Ive used Amazon.co.uk for years and the service has been excellent. I visit the site every day. I would say the only problem and it's no fault of Amazon is the Royal Mail delivery, they won't leave a parcel with a neighbour and the delivery office is closed at lunch times and Saturday afternoon so I cannot collect my parcels.
I ordered a Be Modern Orlando Electric Wall Fire and gave the day of delivery which was about 10 days later which was confirmed. On that day I took a day off work. I had a missed call which I called back and they asked me when I wanted the fire to be delivered, when I said today! they said the confirmation email was for you to phone us and organise a date! So the date is confirmed but not really, that is to receive a call from the supplier on that date to arrange another date. I then had to take another day off work because they can't give am or pm timings. World Stores gave me a small discount or £30 for the delivery charge, however this was a small amount compared to the cost I lost for taking time off work twice. The money we saved by shopping at World Stores turned out to be a lot more expensive in the long run.
We didn't have any problems with an earlier purchase but it just goes to show that when things go wrong. I have since informed friends and family and on Facebook to disregard my recommendation for them to shop at World Stores.
