I wanted to write in any case to thank FE for a superb product (Gris Clair by Serge Lutens) for way less than I'd have paid anywhere else. Throw in a generous free gift worth £25 RRP & superfast delivery - I ordered at the weekend and it came Tuesday morning - and you're on to a real winner.
This outfit put me in touch with a stream of people most of whom I either know already or have no wish to get to know. The bulk of the latter apparently comprises self-regarding "professionals" with hilariously grandiose - and opaque - job descriptions that I simply don't understand. Worst of all, although I've unsubscribed, LinkedIn continues to pester me with unwanted emails. I can't stop them doing this as, having unsubscribed, I can no longer contact them in order to tell them leave me alone. Don't join. It's like the Foreign Legion. They'll never let you leave!
Following friendly, helpful and informed advice over the phone I put in an online order for a Yamaha Stagepas PA system. It was the best price I could find on the internet and I was gigging with it the following evening.
However, I noted that no guarantee or proof of purchase came with the unit. I rang GAK a couple of days later to clear this up and met with a bored and grumpy response. I asked for some technical advice but got the feeling that, since I'd already handed over the money, I was now merely an annoyance. I was told to sort everything out out directly with Yamaha. I rang Yamaha who pointed it out, quite reasonably, that I needed proof of purchase from the seller. After another call to GAK I got an emailed receipt to print out. So, a quick service but brusquely impersonal to the point of rudeness.
