Never ordering from Curry or PCWorld again.
Ordered a pair of headphones on Sunday, but at the order confirmation screen I noticed that they were going to be delivered to an old address, so I requested a cancellation straight away and reordered to my new address.
Today (Tuesday) I received an email saying both pairs had been posted. Phoned Curry asking them why my first order had not been cancelled and the chap told me I had requested cancellation too late (apparently 2 minutes after placing the order isn't fast enough). I told him I wasn't paying for an item that I wouldn't be receiving and he basically told me it was tough, and I would just have to collect them from whoever lives at my old address.
Then called Trading Standards and they told me to tell them that under the Distance Selling Regulations Act I had a right to cancel my order within 7 days of placing it, and to tell Currys to call Royal Mail and tell them to send the parcel back to them.
Rung Currys again and this time got to speak to a supervisor (which was apparently not possible when I asked the first guy) and she is now going to ring Royal Mail and get the order sent back. I await her reply.
The item wasn't expensive, but that is besides the point. Making you pay for items that you are not going to receive is no better than the doorstep sales people who charge you for work they haven't done.
