I always use Serenata to order flowers for friends and relatives. Not only are their costs extremely competitive, they are extraordinarily reliable and offer next day delivery. I have never been disappointed by their service - always arriving on time and delivered by very competent and pleasant people. The flowers are also very beautiful and I have always had comments from recipients about how lovely the flowers are and how long they last.
I recommend Serenata regularly to my friends and would use the service again and again.
My only comments would be 1) to add more design options for personalised cards and messages and 2) to maybe have an option for a Sunday delivery - this is something offered by very few online flower delivery services and I think this would set Serenata apart from competitors if they could offer this service. Perhaps just on certain Sundays? Such as Mothering Sunday?
I ordered flowers (2 bouquets) from the website a week in advance, to be delivered on a Sunday. I even paid extra to have the flowers delivered in the morning. I asked in my buying notes if it would be possible to have the flowers dfelviered before 2pm, which is still allowing time if they were going to be late. 2pm isn't actually the morning after all! (I got no answer to this.)
I was ordering them for my bridesmaids, following my hen do the night before as a thank you. They were meant to be a lovely surprise in the morning.
But they never showed. It started to press on to midday so thought I would ring to see where they were and if they would make the delivery before 2pm. We were all going out for lunch and then my bridesmaids were going home, so I really needed them before 3pm at the latest.
I rang the customer services and was put through to the shop. The woman on the other end did not speak very good English and there were a few communication problems. She told me that the driver should be there within the hour and that he was stuck in traffic. But I was assured he would be with us soon.
I told the lady my mobile number and asked her to pass it on to the driver, as we were going to be around the corner having lunch. I said if he arrived and no one was there, to give me a call as I was only around the corner and could go pick up the flowers from him easily enough. She promised she would do this.
Time rolled on and still no flowers. Now it was getting close to 3pm and we were finishing our lunch. I got my fiance to ring them up and ask where they were and he was just told they would be with us soon.
I finally had to admit defeat at half three as the girls had to go. I admitted what I had tried to do and then apologised to them both. I was very upset as this was the only thing I had done to say thank you to the both of them. They were understanding of course, but it was still rather upsetting.
I then had my fiance call up and say that we didn't want the flowers any more.
However, this time he rang up he spoke to someone who was actually helpful. I can't remember the man's name, but he was so lovely and apologetic. He told us that the drievr's van had broken down, but they were attempting to get a car out to make the deliveries. We told him we still didn't want the flowers as it was too late, but he completely understood. He told us that there would be a full refund (although I haven't checked if this has gone through yet) and that the next time we order from them to call up and speak to him and he would give us a free bouquet!
So at least there was some saving grace (hence the two stars rather than zero), but this was still unacceptable. Not sure if I want to use them again... And from the sounds of the other reviews, missing and late orders are fairly common. Maybe I should have checked out reviews on here first.
