I ordered a basic single bed for my 6 year old son from Dreams (foolishly not checking this site first), thinking it would be the quick and easy option. After all, all they do is sell beds right? So they must stock lots of beds. Er, no. Initially promised a call within a 28 day period to tell us when we can expect delivery. A month later, no call, check order status online: "Awaiting stock". The 'UK's biggest bed retailer' don't stock even one basic single bed apparently! They don't mind taking your cash immediately though, I noticed. It took me several attempts to even get through to the call centre (don't even think about using their online contact form, you will not get a response), wait times of 20 minutes plus every time and a very bad line. When I finally got through the agent was helpful enough, the order has indeed been cancelled but still no refund over a week (!) later. Faced with yet another series of waits on their customer services line..... seriously shoddy service. AVOID!!

I'm currently in the middle of a 'multiple-parcel limbo' situation with another courier (Yodel) so I thought I'd buck the trend and start reviewing companies when things go right as well as wrong. We get a lot of parcels delivered to the office and after some recent and ongoing issues with others I have to say I'm quite relieved now when I see DPD next to the courier details on my orders. They email you (and keep emailing you) your delivery details, with a very specific timeslot, allow you to change this on the fly, and most importantly, bring the actual parcel to the door as promised. I have to wonder how much courier services are effected by locality mind, seeing some other reviews, but in York at least they are far and away the best option.

Hi Alex, really glad you're pleased with our service :D We're very proud of our text and email predictions for keeping customers up to date on their deliveries.
Many thanks, Richard.

Worst Courier in Existence

Consistently and stubbornly try to deliver items to a business address at 7am, even on successive days, don't allow you to change what is obviously an unsuitable timeslot (ie before the building is open for business at 9pm) but only the delivery date itself, their drivers are apparently unable to find a property from the postcode and first line of address alone, fail to leave cards after supposedly attempting delivery, occasionally rude customer service. As pretty much everyone who has to deal with them has the same awful experience, wait times on their helplines are long. The utter pits.
