I have experience of both the new and old Sainsbury's. I currently work almost next to one of their biggest stores and I count myself lucky that I do, but they don't get everything right.
Since they tried to take the cafe upmarket the choice of food is pretty limited. I used to eat there almost everyday before the upgrade, but there just isn't the choice anymore.
Prices are high, but brand match fixes that to some degree. The staff are not bad, but even then I've experienced ASDA where they are better. Overall they are better than average, but could improve a lot!
I've used Skype for 3 years to speak to my brother in Oz and it is brilliant.
Depending on the line it picture is sometimes funny, but compared to the broken calls and letters we used to have this is amazing. It has genuinely brought out family back together!
Skype is Life changing!
I just found this website whilst looking online to see if I could better the offer Barclaycard sent me.
I've never really used one of these sites. In fact I've have the same credit card for 13 years now. Unfortunately it seems that loyalty gets you no-where, as does taking the first offer you get.
Instead of the 20 month Barclaycard wasted time writing to me to offer, I now have (or will have in around 7 days) a 22 balance transfer with half price on the transfer fee between cards!
Amazing! I wish I'd done this years along. You see Martin Lewis and others all the time telling you to use these sites, but you never realise what it could actually save you!
Why can't the world be more simple?
I have a lot of time for McDonalds. They've turned around their business and given it a wholesome image that very few would have even imagined possible back in the McLibel days (sorry Media studies student alert!).
It probably the only place on the highstreet you can get cheap well cared for Chicken. In fact if I want chicken and don't want to pay crazy supermarket prices that is where I go.
Others (KFC etc) could have done it, but McDonalds did and when a restaurant chain that big demands care it demonstrates to the world that everyone could be ethical.
Well done and keep up the good work!
I used to be a big fan of lastminute, then a couple of experiences changed all that.
The first was a valentines night I spent watching Phantom behind a pillar after a dreadful meal where we had been packed into the basement of a ropey restaurant for some crazy price.
The next was a (expensive) well reviewed (recommended) hotel in Bayswater that was so bad the fleas had already moved out!
After a sleepless night and the constant worry of bedbugs we decided that crappy hotels where fine, terrible seats unavoidable, but don't pretend they are a 'lastminute' good deal - they are bad and should be cheap with big warnings!
From now on we make sure we know what we're getting and pay what it should cost - rather than the lastminute mark-up rate!
I'm fairly new to the Nationwide thing. I've just caught on after my mum was preaching about them for years. I must say that all the "I told you so's" were worth it.
I switched their flex account for my personal banking. No trick monthly payments, but crazy overdraft fee's. No switching cashback, but crazy charges everywhere else to make up the money. Nationwide are plain, simple, straightforward and most importantly Trustworthy.
I recently got my letter to vote for the AGM. I can't say my previous bank showed any interest in my thoughts about their business. What a refreshing change the Nationwide approach is.
As I explain to my friends. In a world of sharks, they are a friendly dolphin!
I can't say I eat all Heinz products, but those I do I REALLY love.
Beans and Ketchup are probably the mainstay of most British households and on both counts Heinz sets the bar!
My daughter won't eat anything without her Heinz Tommy-K and I'm almost the same. I know I should be more adventurous, but there is just something very comforting about the things you grew up with.
For me it has to be Heinz! Heinz, Meanz Me!
I use Amazon all the time. I get through about 1-2 books per week and always get them Amazon so I imagine I'm one of their best customers.
So far (and we're talking about 3 years or so), so good. And it is very good!
Delivery has almost (barring snow) never been late and they always seem to have great suggestions for new reads. Quite a few of these I have actually bought and I haven't been disappointed yet!
I just wish more businesses out there were run like Amazon - it would lead to a far happier and more painless world!
