My first experience with Yodel was a unrelated matter last week when I received e mail informing me I was to receive a parcel the following day between 9am and 9pm with reference numbers.
Waited in all day but no parcel delivered although I did receive further e mail at 15:10 telling me parcel had been delivered. I checked outside but no delivery or note.
Telephoned Yodel and they answered after 25 mins, to be told by them that it was not their reference but to call another number.
Called this and after 15 mins told it was Yodels and to call the.
Called Yodel andafte a very long time answered and told that the parcel had been delivered , but not to me and as it was not to me thay could not give any further details.
I expressed my concerns as I was waiting for a number of parcels at that time, and asked that enquiries were made in house to confirm that parcel had been delivered to correct recipient, and how my e mail address had been used. I was assured ThAT i WOULD be contacted and updated but this never happened.
Going on to Dreams Beds they apparently sub contract deliveries to Yodel, and appear to leave them to decide when they will take place.
On 2nd June 2012 I attended a locla store in Ipswich and selected and ordered a superking combination of 2 single electric beds and headboard.
About 1 week later I was contacted to arrange delivery and was agreed for 10th July 2012,38 days after order)
My wife and I booked the day off work together to be there for delivery and sort rooms out after installation. We also arranged collection of the old bed from out address at 08:30 on 10/7/12 to make room for new bed.
At 17:25 on 9/7/12 I received a telephone call from a female I believe to be an employee of Yodel informing me that the delivery was not going to take place as the headboard was not in.
I explained aboiut taking time off work, old bed disposal which efectively meant we would have no bed etc, and asked that delivery took place anyway as headboard could be sorted later. The caller just stated that the delivery would not be taking place and there was nothing else she could do, and that I would be contacted at a later date to arrnge delivery.I asked to speak to her supervisor but was told that they had all gone home.
I called local store and they advised that I called Yodel ( which is the first time I was aware they were involved) and gave me tele number of 08000151509. I rung this number for 30 Mins but it was never answered.
The following day I contacted Dreams Customer service at 9am, explained situation, and informed they would contact me after finding out current situation.
No reply by 12 so contacted them again and given same response. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and was put on hold for 20 mins before being cut off.
Called back and after another 10 mins on hold put through to a manager.
Explained situation and told I would be updated.
Call received from same manager at 16:10 saying that delivery was not going to take place, he could not get hold of anyone in Yodel, and arranged delivery date for Thursday 12/7/12.
Call received 5 mins later, unable to deliver on Thurs, but now friday 13/7/12.
I do not hold my breath that this will take place after reading other customers feedback.
PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE LOOK AT THESE, MAINLY YODEL AS THER SEEM TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THEM.
i DO KNOW THAT IF YOU MISS A DELIVERY IN iPSWICH AND WISH TO COLLECT YOUR PARCEL YOU ARE EXPECTED TO TRAVEL TO COLCHESTER.
