Overclockers UK

Never ever again

I have used these guys 3 times in the last 10 years and on every occasion they have screwed me over. They have no regard for the distance selling regulations and god help you if some thing turns up DOA.

Case 1: Bought an over clocked motherboard and CPU package, it turned up DOA, the board would not even POST. Sent back, they returned it to me with a £30 testing charge saying it was fine. Plugged it in, again it wouldn't POST. Took it to my uni IT department and asked them to test it, they said they couldn't as the board would even POST. Got it in writing and sent it to OCUK, who swapped it out but kept the original £30 "testing fee"

Case 2: Bought some 5.1 head phones, turned up DOA, sent them back the same day. Got an email saying I had to contact the manufacturer not OCUK as the warranty was with the manufacturer, which is absolute rubbish. In the first month the reseller should swap out your product. In the end had to wait almost a month for them to send me a new set of head phones

Case 3: Bought a new graphics card, paid for next day delivery. Card took 5 days to turn up. Said I wanted to return it for a refund as they had breached their contract by saying it would be delivered within 24 hours, even sent them the paragraph from the distance selling regulations stating a reasonable expectation of delivery time is a condition of contract. OCUK said the problem was the courier not them. Eventually returned the item and got a refund minus a very large restocking fee, which is illegal! You can return unopened within 28 days if bough over the internet for a full refund and refund of carriage.

Complaints are either ignored or phone calls rudely dealt with. Any negative comments on their forum are deleted.

No delivery and no card

I ordered an item on Monday 9th of July for next day delivery on the Tuesday at my business address. Despite it clearly being a business address DPD's website informed me my delivery would be between 18:30 and 19:30, well out side of business hours. I waited out side out goods in until 19:45 but no van turned up, checked the website and it said they were unable to deliver because no one was there and had left a card at 18:45 which was while I was sat at our goods in! DPD then continued to hide behind their automated phone system and I was unable to rearrange delivery to another address or for another time. Instead they sent it for re-delivery on Wednesday between 17:18 and 18:18, still hadn't realised this was a business address and would be closed! Again I waited out side our goods in, this with my iPad constantly refreshing their deliver status. At 18:08 it said again unable to deliver card left. The time was 18:08 and I was at goods in, the delivery van clearly wasn't!!! I am still without my parcel 3 days later and probably will never get it as they are uncontactable and insist on delivering after work hours to a work address I cannot change. In future I will not buy goods from a company using DPD as a courier
