Annoyed by company policy of a 15% restocking fee

I recently purchased some PC cables and chose displayport as this was the solution needed for the PC/Screen setup.

The PC was subsequently changed to a DVI connection so i had the wrong cables. I requested a return form so that I could send the cables back and purchase DVI cables. To my annoyance Lindy place a 15% restocking charge on 8 cables that have been unopened and complete in their packaging. Total rip off.

I have subsequently purchased the correct cables from another company and have no intention of using Lindy again.

This is a shame as up to this point the customer service was excellent and I was kept well informed on the status of my order.

It baffles me why it is deemed necessary to charge a re-stocking fee, customers make mistakes but shouldn't feel punished for it.
