very good communication from Simly Hike ..but delivery not so good

i bought a Vango Beta 350 from Simply Hike. Communication about the dispatch of the tent was excellent- however DPD who delivered the tent were not so good. It all started well with me receiving a text to say that the tent would arrive between 2-3pm. by 6 pm it had still not arrived. The tracking website said the tent was still out for delivery but it did not arrive that evening. i had to ring customer services the next day to be told the driver had run out of hours. A text to alert me to that would have been helpful.The tent did arrive the next just in time for me to go camping. i am very pleased with the product-it was easy to put up, roomy with space in the porch for two people to sit (just about) if it is raining. the inner tent easily sleeps 3. generally great value.

We do sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to customer by the Courier not keeping to their delivery times. The goods were delivered within the Express time frame which the customer paid for but the confusion was caused as it appears that the Courier intended to make the delivery earlier than the 48 hours but then did not adhere to their time slots. With this in mind we will arrange to reimburse the customer for the Express Postage Cost as a courtesy gesture.
