alpharooms.com = rip off merchants

booked a room on 24/7/2012 at a cost of 275 but had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances .. called alpha rooms today 30/7/2012 to cancel and was informed that i would be charged a whopping 25% = 68.75 for cancellation fee now i can understand being charged if it was the day before the holiday that i cancelled
but it wasnt i gave them 42 days notice so this is total daylight robbery .. how can this be justified ??? it is a disgraceful practice and is extortion no matter which way you look at it THE POWERS THAT BE SHOULD COME DOWN ON THIS DISGUSTING PRACTICE LIKE A TON OF BRICKS!! all these people have to do is press a few buttons and then its cancelled and then charge extortionate amounts for doing so ! 42 days notice for god sake! i would recommend that everyone should go elsewherre to book their holidays and make sure they read the small print as there there seems to be lot of travel companies out there with much less severe penalties than alpharooms.com some even with no penalties at all for cancellations ...have a word with local government and see what can be done about this ripoff practice'.. it just isn't right to let them away with it especially in these increasingly hard times!
