Watch out for the hidden charges

I booked our car rental through US rentacar and paid extra for the additional insurance to cover the usual exemptions of tyres, windscreen and undercarriage. Thought that now we were fully covered and would have nothing more to pay when we collected our car. Wrong! When we. Collected our car from dollar we were told that the extra insurance we had paid for only covered us if the car was "wrecked" and we had to pay an additional 40 odd dollars to get covered. We also paid for a toll pass, which was very useful. Had to wait a fair time for the car to be washed before we could get on our way.
