I bought a couple of appliances 18 months ago and they messed up the delivery, but needing a drier and having forgotten momentarily about my previous experience, I found one at a good price in my local Curry's. I paid for the drier and was told to expect delivery the following Monday; so much for within 2 days.
On the Sunday morning I was awoken by a telephone call saying "we have your drier and will be with you this morning". Under normal circumstances this would be good news however, as I explained, it was remembrance Sunday and we had a family event organised and would not be home until after 2. "No problem", the guy on the phone said, "we'll call you after 2 to arrange things". So following a hasty meal we hurried home to await the call; no call.
I assumed that because we had not heard anything from them the delivery would go ahead on the previously arranged day, so here I am waiting. I thought back to my lest experience of the so called 'know how' team and suddenly had grave misgivings. So I decided to check if in fact I was going to get my delivery after all and guess what? Yes you got it, delivery not happening today (Monday12/11/12) but tomorrow(Tuesday13/11/12), nobody thought to tell me this and I had to make special arrangements to get the children to school. I hung on to the phone for ages to find out that somebody in store had allegedly cancelled the delivery (and I remember from my last run a round with Curry's that call charges really mount up). So now the 'service' advisor has agreed to call me back within half an hour to inform me of just when I can expect a delivery, and she promised that half an hour ago; enough said.
I know it is nice to go to a shop and see a product in the flesh sometimes and the stores are on the high street, but for the love of God heed my advice and give Currys and I'm guessing PC World (as they are in effect the same company) a very wide berth. They really don't deserve your custom and they wont be getting any more of mine or my families. I will tell as many people as possible about there utterly crap communication and logistics and I only hope I never have to return my drier for repair.
Finally, if anybody from the company reads this, take a good look at Comet, they had a big presence on the high street but look at them now; YOU ARE NEVER TOO BIG TO FAIL. As a big player in a competitive sector your master card against on-line competition should be customer service and satisfaction, read the comments here and on your own forum (if it's still up, I'm guessing you may have removed it because last time I commented upon it last year you were not exactly covering yourself in any glory there either). If this dissatisfaction grows any more you will go under, the public do not have to put up with crap service; BE WARNED.
I searched for the best price for the Samsung laptop I wanted and Laptop Direct was the cheapest. However, ordering was quick, simple and easy and the laptop arrived the next day in perfect condition. I would buy from them again without hesitation.
