Dreams

Utterly dreadful!

I like many others on this site have had a terrible experience with Dreams. When I ordered from the Guiseley store in Leeds the staff were helpful and polite and I ordered a triple wardrobe and bedside cabinet. The delivery date was reasonable and I was pleasantly surprised that it was coming so quick. Then it all went wrong. Yodel deliverers turned up - none of my order was labelled so they didn't know which boxes were mine. They were told by their head office to just give me all the boxes - this meant that I was given 25 very large and heavy boxes of furniture rather than 14, which I needed. I then had to try and work out which ones were my order after the guys left. Despite having all the extra boxes the drawer fronts to my bedside cabinet were missing. I then had to pester Dreams to come and get the rest of the boxes picked up as they were stacked all over my house. It took a phone call and a visit to the store and 10 days before they were picked up. The delivery men and store suggested I keep it - I was honest and wanted to give it back - although now I wish I'd sold it as it was worth well over a £1000. The store manager was unhelpful. I have since spent over 6 weeks trying to get the rest of my bedside cabinet delivered and still haven't got it. They keep cancelling the delivery date. Despite numerous visits to the store, staff have promised they will sort it and then done nothing. Now they say it will be next week and I have insisted they order it to the store as I can't take time off work for every cancelled delivery date. I have been polite and reasonable all the way through this fiasco and not once have I had an apology or a goodwill gesture. This was supposed to be a treat to myself and it has just been awful and stressful. I will be writing to Head Office and trying to see if Consumer Watchdogs are on to this company. I would never recommend this company. They may get it right sometimes and noone can ever get it right all the time, but to get no apology despite asking for one is just the worst customer service there is.
