Right, well first off I better explain I am not an employee of TSO as this is going to sound too good to be true. So a little background.
I am a webdesigner and host a number of websites for my clients. I have personally dealt with more hosting companies than I would care to remember but have not changed hosting since having TSO recommended to me by a number of people all singing their virtues.
So, as to the product, it's certainly good and I have both shared Cpanel hosting and clustered hosting which I use for both personal websites and client sites. Interfaces are good and easy to work with and all the little things that need changing and setting up are all easy to do. But let's be honest, a number of other providers can claim the same thing so why am I still with TSO and recommnd them to all that ask?
Simple. Service. Downtime firstly. I can only think of two occasions when I have experienced downtime. On both occasions TSO kept me informed along the way of what the problem was and what they were doing about it to get it resolved as quickly as possible. One situation was not their fault and one was (an upgrade that went slightly wrong). Not only were both resolved quickly but I also received emails after the event analysing why the downtime had occured and more importantly what steps they had taken so that the circumstances would never be repeated. And guess what, they haven't been.
But what really stands out for me is the support. Whether via email or phone, answers are almost instant and their knowledge cannot be faulted. As an example of their dedication, I sent them a .htaccess file as I was having trouble getting it to work in the way I wanted. A bit cheeky I thought as that is really my problem and not really a support issue but as ever they had an answer for me within minutes and my issue had been resolved. And this is why I now won't ever have to go through the pain of moving a number of websites to another provider. My last support email was answered in roughly 20 seconds and I joked that they were slipping and I have never sent them anything that they didn't already know the answer to.
In short, I recommend TSO to anyone who wants good old fashioned support. And let's face it, in this day and age, it is becoming a rare commodity. I look forward to thier service for many years to come.
